About the ChamberThe Newark Valley Chamber of Commerce was started in 1995 and became incorporated in 1997. This qualifies current members, for local and State funding to help promote tourism and business growth in our area, Tioga County and New York State. In October of 2018 the chamber received official certification from NY State allowing the chamber to be known as the Northern Tioga Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the name change is to better reflect the Chamber's commitment to serve all northern Tioga County towns, including Newark Valley, Berkshire and Richford. Membership is open to all businesses who would like to promote a business climate in which our communities will grow and prosper. This will ultimately provide an ideal place to raise our families. We work closely with other groups in the area towns and villages to attract people to our areas and help promote business growth in ways unique to our own communities. Events are held to raise funds to help our members with financial needs. Recent fund raisers were held to benefit the Berkshire Free Library and the Tappan Spaulding Memorial Library in Newark Valley. The Chamber is also active in events that members hold to promote our areas. In addition, when we are notified of new residents, we welcome them to our area by presenting them with a Welcome Basket containing special promotions and products from our local businesses. We welcome all Northern Tioga businesses to be active participants in the Chamber, which is passionately focused on its mission of "Helping Businesses Take Flight". |
